Blog Post 1
My name is Allie Glass. I am originally from Mobile, Al, but have actually lived in several states over my 20 years. My step father used to work on towers so my mother, little brother and sister, and I have lived in Colorado, Kansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi. When I was in the 7th grade my family decided to move back to Mobile and shortly afterwards, we moved to Baldwin County to a small town called Robertsdale.
I chose to go to the University of South Alabama because it was close to home, but not close enough where I would have to live at home. The campus at USA is absolutely beautiful, and I actually enjoy walking to class everyday. When I was in the 5th grade, my family and I were living in Chanute, KS. My teachers name was Mrs. Daughtery and she was the first teacher I had who did charity work within the school and really cared about her students and their well being. We got very involved in collecting school supplies for children in Mexico who had nothing, and where very successful in our endeavors. Mrs. Daughtery inspired me greatly and ever since that class I knew that I would be a elementary school teacher and have never even considered another profession. Of course there are many other professions out there that make plenty more money then a teacher does, but there are some things that you know your supposed to do in life and for me, it is teaching. I cannot wait to see what I learn in this EDM 310 class, and how I will be able to incorporate all of this new information in to my classroom when I have my own someday!
